Ecuador legalized the production and sale of marijuana for medical purposes

The National Assembly of Ecuador has approved amendments to the country’s criminal code that decriminalize the production, trade, distribution and use of medicines and products containing marijuana for medical and scientific research purposes, El Universo reported.

Previously, the term of imprisonment for growing marijuana ranged from one to three years.

A few days ago, the production and sale of marijuana for medical purposes was launched in Paraguay.
