The Head of Government was accompanied by a representative of the Thai Ministry of Health and Dr. Ganja, a costumed character puppet with a head shaped like a hemp leaf. Chan-o-cha gave the same toys in the miniature to the children present.

Meanwhile, the Thai Ministry of Health has launched a website on the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

A year ago, Thailand legalized the use, storage, production, import, export and sale of marijuana for medical purposes. Thailand was the first Southeast Asian country to take that step.

In August 2019, hemp oil was delivered to 12 clinics in Thailand. Four thousand citizens are registered in the database of patients who need cannabis preparations.
