“Marijuana leads to addiction.”
Fact: When they say about addictions, psychological and physiological addictions are emphasized. Physiological addiction occurs when a narcotic substance reorganizes processes in the body so that it becomes difficult (or impossible) to live without it. A typical example is morphine, which, like other opiates, replaces endorphin production and withdrawal syndrome begins in a person without opiates.
Unlike this, marijuana stimulates the release rather than replacing the neurotransmitter serotonin (the hormone of happiness), so that physical addiction is out of the question.
It is a bit more difficult with psychological dependability. The fact is that psychological dependability can be caused by anything at all – everything depends on the narcotics user identity. Psychological dependability can be caused by computer games, the Internet, coffee, a sexual partner, food (which leads to obesity), alcohol… EVERYTHING! Why are some people able to drink alcohol in normal quantities without consequences, while others, if they drink, then they would surely lose themselves into drinking? Why a couple of cigarettes a day would be enough for some people, while two packs of cigarettes would be too little for others? Why are some people would be fed by a single rice grain, while others would need to eat a whole ram? Exactly the same story is with hemp. It does not cause any addiction in normal people. The development of addiction is observed only in 9 percent of hemp users, but this addiction is easier than that from nicotine or alcohol, and it faster comes to its end.
Have you heard that there are early treatment centers for treatment against alcoholism and drug addiction? And have you ever heard how long they have been trying to develop effective methods for quitting tobacco? And you have certainly heard that neither the methods, nor the special institutions, nor the psychotherapy for drugs addiction help the patients kick a habit in most cases. And now tell me, have you ever heard that they unsuccessfully tried to develop a methodology for helping people addicted to cannabis? Have you ever heard that they tread against smoking marijuana in early treatment centers? No, you have never heard of it. Do you know why? It is because if marijuana causes addiction in rare people, it is so weak that no methods and courses are required for withdrawal from drugs, not to speak of treatment. In fact it can be said – THERE IS NO addiction!
In the Big Gate theory,
there is a common mistake of the human brain which plays a significant role.
Having no comprehensive information, the brain automatically assumes that two
events, one after the other, are mutually connected. And people, as a rule, do
not have information about drugs. They simply connect links of one chain, as it
seems to them.
Everything begins with something. The wish to
get new experiences initially takes place in us. So neurons have connected
together. Someone needs to go to the theater, and someone has to jump with a
parachute or climb Everest, and you don’t need to prove that climbing Everest
is good, while using drugs is bad.
Percentage of those who have died from Everest
is estimated as 1.6% of the total number of those who tried to climb it, and it
was only those who tried! And with what did all it start? Do you remember how
you tried to get on the chair when you were three years old? And you shouted:
“I will do it myself! I will do it myself!”. Well, here it is.
