Yeruham is going to become a medical cannabis center
The Times of Israel reports that the southern Israeli city of Yeruham is planned to become a center for medical cannabis cultivation in Israel.
“In five years’ time, Yeruham will be the medical cannabis capital of Israel, no less,” says the first woman mayor of Tal Ohana, who attended the meeting of investors, entrepreneurs and regulators. Thanks to this industry, 500 new high-paid jobs can be created in production, research and export.
Moreover, medical experts say that Israel could become a global center for cannabis production because of a number of positive factors. The country has a critical mass of scientists and clinicians familiar with this product, as well as a strong biotechnology industry and researchers in leading medical institutions and universities that generally support the use of medical marijuana.
